WAIS was born from our experience as learners at the Apple Developer Academy, where we worked on multiple projects with different teams and design processes. Across these projects, we noticed a recurring pattern in how teams collaborated, especially during the early stages of building an idea.
Despite having a shared goal to create apps that make life easier, a significant amount of project time was consistently spent on ideation, leaving less room for execution.
Through research and firsthand experience, we found that up to 60% of project time was often consumed by ideation. This was influenced by multiple factors: differences in communication styles, varying levels of experience, bias, ego, and hierarchical dynamics that limited open expression.
Additionally, 4 out of 5 people reported a lack of guidance during ideation both structural and emotional, making it difficult for teams to move forward with clarity and confidence.
WAIS is a team brainstorming app designed to bring structure into ideation sessions. It helps teams shift perspectives, reduce bias and ego, and create psychological safety—so ideas can be expressed freely without fear or pressure.
By guiding teams through a more intentional thinking process, WAIS enables collaboration that is both focused and inclusive.
“By having a wise mind, we will find our ways.”
We believe that embracing diversity and richness of perspectives shapes the quality of the solutions we create, also defines how we innovate.
